Shizen Energy completes 5.3-MW of PV plants in Ishikawa

January 15 (Renewables Now) – Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc has completed two solar plants with a combined capacity of 5.3 MW in Ishikawa prefecture.

The 2.59-MW Shika Town Inotani Chosuichi Solar Power Plant and the 2.75-MW Hakui City Shimbo Town Solar Power Plant were built by another company within the Shizen Energy Group — juwi Shizen Energy, which is a EPC joint venture with Juwi Group of Germany.

Shizen Energy began working on the photovoltaic (PV) facilities after receiving the order from Prominet Power Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo Gas Co Ltd (TYO:9531).

These projects are the first cases in which Shizen Energy led the business development and Juwi Shizen Energy was in charge of the construction under an agreement signed by Shizen Energy and Tokyo Gas in February 2017.

Juwi Shizen Energy Operation Inc is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of both parks, the company noted.
